Have you ever had a TV mounted on the wall? How about a heavy painting or mirror? If you have drywall in your home, this could pose a risk, both for damage to the item hung on the wall, as well as, to anyone or anything that it might fall on. To mount things securely on drywall, you need to use anchors. Of course, the best mounting area would be on a stud, which should be your first choice, if at all possible. Unfortunately, studs are not always in the right place for you to use them.
There are many different types of anchors. You want to make sure that you choose the best type of anchor for the job. Depending on the weight of the item mounted, you need to use the right type and number of anchors. Some anchors are made from plastic while others are made out of metal. Some come with a bracket that opens up behind the wall for some extra support, and some are self drilling that you just screw into the wall before you insert a screw into them.
